Missing Scene Workshop

Missing Scenes Workshop/Outlining Workshop!

Well, we had a pretty strong consensus for doing a "missing scenes" exercise versus the outlining exercise, but no particular strong obvious favorite for which episode to focus on.

I propose the following:

I will run a quick, three-day poll with just the episodes that people voted for to try to get a "Given a choice among these, you'd most like to do . . ." answer. If the results still come out spread as evenly as they are already I'll put tickets into a hat and pull one out myself.

Once we've decided on an episode (and this is just the first episode -- we can do other Missing Scene exercises later), I'll post a Missing Scene to sort of prime the pump, and give people a two-week deadline to send me a Missing Scene from the selected episode . . . and . . . also . . . at the same time . . . we can have an outline exercise based on the same episode! People could play in either exercise, both exercises, or neither exercise.

Missing Scene Workshop!

In the recent poll for which episode to use to generate Missing Scenes, four episodes each got two votes; no episode got more than two votes. So, I wrote the four episodes on pieces of paper and let Maggie pick them out of a hat. She chose "The Cardinal's Revenge."

So, for our Missing Scene Workshop, let's all write a Missing Scene for "The Cardinal's Revenge!" I think that under the circumstances it might be okay if we used "The Cardinal's Design," too. Unless that would make people mad.

The purpose of the Missing Scene Workshop is for people who want to participate to write a short Missing Scene (can be an aftermath scene, a missing bridge scene, a missing "Meanwhile, back at the ranch" scene, or even a "I wish this scene had gone in this direction . . ." scene.

Please keep them short! so that you don't have to worry about making a major investment of your time!

Send me your missing scenes by Saturday, March 8th, which is about ten days from tonight; then starting on the following Monday I'll post them one at a time so that we can see all the different things different writers find to say about the missing pieces of this episode!

I hope you will want to play in this workshop. I think it could be a lot of fun . . . and generate a lot of fun ficlets (grin).

Workshops 3 and 4!

When last we spoke, I had put a poll up to try and get a good feeling on which one episode we wanted to use for a "missing scene" and outline workshop. If there wasn't a clear consensus I threatened to just pick one.

Four of the seven episodes that received votes in round one (previous poll) got two votes in this go-around. I wrote them down on pieces of paper, tossed them into the air all over the dining-room table, and asked Maggie to choose. She chose . . .

but wait! I do not have my own outline prepared, or my own demo "missing scene" written.

Do we want to get started on the workshops without Odensdisir templates/demos?

No poll! I'll take the first three callers!
