AUTHOR'S NOTE:
It's not my fault.
During a chat Chris (Demetral) had complained about that hideous Vernsicle in which Sci Fi dressed him, mistakenly believing it looked 'Victorian enough' for the promos. I had promised to write him a story about the suit. And I, being the blithering idiot that I am, figured that one story - ONE DAMNED STORY - would be it. No more writing SAJV. I have stuff to do, by God, I can't spend all of my time . . . .
Well, anyway, I wrote this one, which turned out to be from Phileas' POV. And when I'd all but finished it, I realized that there was a knife at my back with Rebecca at the other end telling me that I'd gotten it completely and horribly wrong and what did I plan to do about that, hmn?
So I wrote another story. And I got two pages into that before Passepartout piped up that I'd gotten it erronormously wrong again and only HE knew what had really happened . . . and then Jules started making comments about my research (*slap*) and didn't I want to know what the others weren't telling me . . . .
It was when the Aurora stepped in (yes, and we won't even begin to discuss that now, thank you) with her side of the tale that I called a halt to the whole darned thing.
I didn't WANT to hear from Count Gregory, after all.
So there will be FIVE of these damned things. I've only written the first two so far, but the others will appear . . . in their own time, I suppose.
Just be very happy you're not me.
