Chapter 2

Just a Girl Thing

The night of the dance "ceremony" was packed to the brim, but luckily Phileas, Jules and Passepartout were able to get seats nearby. The three sat, totally unsure as to what they would be treated to, and what Rebecca, Aleta, and Marisol were about to surprise them with.

Backstage, it was a different story.

"Becca, I swear, if they even *try* to kill you…well, that all depends. How big –is- your cousin?"

"Celeste!"

"I'm kidding, Beccster. We won't let them hurt you in any fashion. Hell, I may even hit on one of them--."

"Not now," Aleta told the younger girl, Cel, "we need to do this."

"Yeah, can't wait to see them!"

+ + + +

(AN: Just because the sequence would be a lot like watching the film "Moulin Rouge", I will not describe what Rebecca, Aleta, Marisol, Cel and the rest did. I'll just tell you they did some pretty wild dancing and "Lady Marmalade" was one of them)

The after-dance party was full of drinking, laughing, and pretty much everything that had been in the dance. Phileas, a very red Jules, and Passepartout walked in just to hear Aleta yell out, "Phileas! Over here!" The three men walked over to spot Aleta sitting on a barstool next to Rebecca, who was in some relaxing clothing like the kind that Aleta and Marisol sometimes wore.

"Aleta, if you would kindly let my cousin and I speak alone?"

"BECCA!"

Aleta smiled as a short-haired girl, one from the dance, came up and hugged Rebecca before coming between the red-head and her cousin. "You like?" the girl asked.

"Celeste, don't you have manners?" Rebecca asked coolly. Celeste turned to look over all three men, then Aleta, then back to Rebecca.

"Very few. Why?"

"Then I'll introduce you to my cousin before you get out of hand. Celeste, this is Phileas Fogg of London, Jules Verne of France, and Jean Passepartout, Phileas' valet."

Celeste now seemed to spot all three of them, and smiled broadly before shaking their hands. "Becca, you never told me you had three fine-looking guys with you. If I had only know, I wouldn't have tried to fight you."

"Well, we all have our vices, Cel," Aleta told her, smiling, "and Phileas was about to talk with Rebecca about something."

"Oh." Cel said knowingly, then turned to Phileas, "Can I ask her something first?"

"By all means," Phileas said, then Cel turned back to Rebecca.

"Can I have one?"

--Aleta, what is she—

--It's her nature, Phileas. I've checked…she really wants to be like this, and as such acts this way most of the time. Actually, she seems to be very smart,--Aleta mentally chuckled and Rebecca said, "Celeste, no."

"Why? Are you in need of all three? `Cause, if so, I have this wonderful book for you to borrow…"

"No, I simply don't think a girl of your…nature…would really want to… um… `have' one just now."

"Sure I do. They're all good looking, they're all fine in their own little ways, and besides all that I don't know them. Better for a hit- and-run kinda deal."

--Oh? If so, why is she making Rebecca seem mad?—Phileas asked Aleta.

--Because they both are on good terms. Believe me, the way they met was a whole lot worse. If you had been there, I'm sure she would've been hurt.—

--Celeste, you mean?—

--Well…that all really depends…--

Celeste finally said, "Man, you are just one bitch today, aren't you Rebecca?"

"I beg your pardon, you harlot?"

Aleta groaned, "Not today, please?"

Celeste turned at Aleta, "Why not? I'm 0 and 2, and I need to get a drink from her one of these days."

"Later," Aleta said, glaring slightly at Celeste. The younger girl finally sighed, then shrugged at Rebecca, "Take it up later, you whore of a lady." Phileas' eyes went wide.

"Of course, you two-cent hooker."

"NOW, both of you," Aleta said, and Celeste finally smiled and made a zipping motion across her lips before hugging all three men. Upon getting to Phileas and Jules, however, she hugged Jules, and gave him a quick kiss. "Don't use any language heard here today unless you really have to."

She gave Phileas just a quick hug and pulled back, "Don't keep the stick up your…well, lighten up. I don't mean half the things I say, and neither does Rebecca. Incidentally, know any good curses?"

"CEL!"

"Right, leaving now."

After Celeste had left, Aleta looked back at the three, and suggested they speak about this on the Aurora instead.

+ + + +

It had been a week, and shortly after leaving the "bar", Rebecca had told Phileas that he shouldn't worry about her. This created a small fight that had only ended with a surprise visit from Marisol to give Rebecca some help and to explain things to them in her broken English and her very good Spanish. Jules had left with Marisol, since she was on her way to Paris and the Foggs were going to England, when Mari gave Rebecca a short letter from Cel. She stated how sorry she was, and for Rebecca to send a quick telegraph when she would be in Paris next, so they could "hang out."

Rebecca smiled at the thought as she settled into bed. Celeste was a very interesting character, and "hanging out" with her would prove and interesting experience.

The End

Author's Quick End Note: Yes, Celeste will become a new member. I like her, and I felt that Rebecca needed someone who could probably join in on the fun of hurting things while Aleta wasn't around. That's pretty much it. Could someone review this now? It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worse either!
